The Sawtooth Botanical Garden is clear in its mission to represent the unique five biomes of south-central Idaho: Sagebrush Steppe garden, Lava Rock garden, Alpine garden, Montane garden and Riparian garden. In keeping with the mission of being a community resource for education, these gardens demonstrate how native and non-native adaptable plants can be used in landscape in a pleasing and aesthetic way, while also being sustainable.

Other improvements in the master plan include a community area with spraypark, outdoor event areas, community gardens, 3 new greenhouses for year round growing and expanded parking and entry plaza.
